国内生产总值从1970年的215.48亿零吉(当时价)增加到1990年的791.03亿零吉，增加了三倍。

由於人口每年平均增加2.5%，人均收入（PER CAPITA INCOME）从1970年的1,937零吉（当时价）增加了两倍到1990年的4,268 (1978年价)零吉，或6,180零吉，当时价。

我国货物与服务的出口(1971-1990)平均每年增加9.2%。 货物的出口构成有了重大的改变。 在货物出口中，橡胶在1970年占33.4%，降到1990年的3.8%，石油天然气从4%增加到16.2%，工业产品从12%增加到60.4%。

我国货物与服务的出口总值，从1970年的51.63亿零吉增加到1990年的796.46亿零吉。

我国货物与服服的进口总值，从1970年的42.88亿零吉增加到1990年的791.19亿零吉。
